Just looked this up and apparently it encouraged bacteria growth – but storing in the fridge or with lemon/lime on the cut parts helps them last longer

Jesus. My sister has nagged me for the longest time about how cutting avocados is so dangerous and I’ve been a huge eye roll about it, but apparently people cut them like crazy finger murderers so she was right.
This has been reviewed and people are being told not to do this because of the bacteria that can form in water. You can get very sick.
